I’m Mark Edgington - a dad, writer, public speaker, and community volunteer dedicated to family, service, and personal growth.

I believe character is shaped by how we live our values in everyday life, whether that means raising a family, lending time to local causes, or sharing stories that can help someone else along their journey.

My life hasn’t been without mistakes. I was formerly incarcerated, and that experience reshaped everything I thought I knew about freedom, responsibility, and redemption. Since then, I’ve devoted my energy to living my values out loud, through writing, speaking, and everyday acts of service.

Two decades ago, I co-founded Free Talk Live to share ideas about peace, liberty, and honest communication. What began as a small broadcast grew into a nationally syndicated program on more than 200 stations and earned the Freedom of Speech Award from Talkers Magazine. The show wasn’t just about conversation. Through listener support, we helped fund the construction of an orphanage in Kagoma, Uganda, which continues serving children today.

Over the years, I’ve served my community as an elected Town Moderator in Hudson, New Hampshire, and as an active supporter of causes that build connection and purpose; from blood donation and youth mentorship to environmental and civic restoration projects.

Today, I focus on helping others rebuild with integrity, find meaning in their daily lives, and turn accountability into action. I believe character isn’t defined by what happens to us, but by how we choose to respond — and that every day is an opportunity to grow, forgive, and lead with empathy.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy what I have to share.
