Raising Money for Charity in Mexico

Recently, I had the opportunity to work at a liberty event in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where people who value freedom, personal responsibility, and community come together to exchange ideas and support one another. This year, I wasn’t just attending. I was running the charity auction.

We focused on helping three organizations: LaBib Bilingual Children’s Library in Puerto Vallarta, Maximo Cornejo Quisaro’s Children’s Home in Puerto Vallarta, and the Greenbriar Community School in Texas. These are groups doing real work for young people and families, and it felt good to be part of something practical and concrete.

The auction raised $11,000 in a single night. That happened because people chose to show up generously, and I’m grateful to everyone who bid and helped make it happen.

Over time, I’ve realized that this role fits me well. Events like this can be full of conversation and ideas, but serving as an auctioneer gives me a clear purpose while I’m there. Instead of simply attending, I’m able to help direct energy toward something useful and immediate.

Being a liberty auctioneer lets me connect people’s enthusiasm with real-world results. It takes talk and turns it into action. Funds raised go directly to organizations doing meaningful work, and that feels worthwhile.
