Why I Still Love Broadcasting

The answer to why I’ve stayed involved in broadcasting for so many years is surprisingly simple: I still enjoy the conversation.

Radio has always fascinated me because it creates a space where ideas can be explored in real time. You never know who might call in, what perspective they’ll bring, or where the discussion will lead. Some of the most memorable moments I’ve experienced on the air began with an unexpected question or an opinion I hadn’t considered before.

Over the years, broadcasting has allowed me to speak with people from many different backgrounds, like entrepreneurs, activists, elected officials, authors, travelers, community leaders, and everyday listeners who simply wanted to contribute to the conversation.

What has always interested me most is not necessarily agreement. It’s curiosity.

The ability to ask questions, exchange ideas, and better understand how other people see the world remains one of the most rewarding parts of the medium.

While much has changed since I first entered radio, that core appeal has not.

Today, much of my broadcasting work continues through The Mark Edge Show, where I have the opportunity to discuss current events, culture, technology, public policy, travel, and the issues shaping our communities. The format allows for thoughtful conversations, interviews, and the kind of open dialogue that first drew me to radio many years ago.

Broadcasting has also given me opportunities to travel, meet remarkable people, and encounter ideas that challenged my assumptions. Some conversations have been serious. Others have been humorous. Many have been memorable.

The technology may change. The platforms may evolve. But the opportunity to connect with people, exchange ideas, and learn something new remains as valuable as ever.

For those interested in my current broadcasting projects, including The Mark Edge Show and related programs, additional information is available at MarkEdge.org.

Thank you for following along and being part of the conversation.
