Why We Support a Sarasota Circus Arts Program for Kids

Laura and I like to support a local circus arts program here in Sarasota.
It’s a group that works with kids, something like an after-school program. I think it’s been connected to Sarasota High at different points, and the name has changed over the years, but the idea has stayed the same.
It gives kids something positive to put their time into, and it’s great exercise. Most kids do sports, but this is equally (if not more) physically demanding.

We’ve gone a few times to watch their shows, and it’s always worth it. It’s probably the best value for live performance around here. The kids put real effort into it, and it shows.
What stands out to me is that it gives them structure. Something physical. Something creative. A place to focus their energy in a good direction.
It’s easy to overlook things like that, but they matter.
Laura’s birthday was this past week, and we kept things simple. One night at the circus arts show, another night listening to dueling pianos down in North Port.
Spending time with family has kept my life full lately.
